How do differential pressure sensors work, and how do they differ from other sensor types? Gauge pressure and absolute pressure sensors have defined reference points for measuring pressure differences (for absolute pressure: absolute vacuum, for gauge pressure: atmospheric pressure). In contrast, differential pressure sensors measure the difference between two pressures without defining a reference point.
